RailSphere is a premier Queensland-based rail engineering and technical advisory consultancy specializing in end-to-end solutions for mainline and metro rail networks across Australia. Driven by a highly talented team of engineering professionals with deep industry roots, the firm combines decades of practical experience with cutting-edge digital innovation to deliver advanced signaling and control systems design, technical advisory, and seamless interface integration management. Leadership

Mohan SANKARASUBBU FIRSE MIEAust CPEng NER RPEQ is a Senior Technical Executive and industry leader in Rail Control Systems Engineering with 24+ years of multinational experience, specialising in ETCS and digital signalling technologies. He holds a Master’s in Engineering Management, a Bachelor’s in Information Systems and multiple technical certifications. A passionate engineer focused on safety?critical systems innovation, system development and integration, Mohan has received the ARA/IRSE Signalling and Systems Engineering Excellence Award (2024) and the RTSA Railway Engineering Master Thesis Award (2022).

He is Vice Chairperson of IRSE Australasia, an active member of Engineers Australia, RTSA and SESA (INCOSE), and contributes to national rail standards through ARiSO and the National Transport Commission. Mohan is also committed to industry capacity building, volunteering in coaching, training and mentoring young engineers and organising technical events.

In 2025, he founded RailSphere Pty Ltd to provide specialised engineering and systems services across Australia, following senior roles where he led large teams, including an engineering team of more than 70 staff on Queensland Rail’s Cross River Rail ETCS Level 2 project. Mohan believes that strong teamwork is essential to delivering safe, reliable and efficient rail systems.
